Presents for a one year old | 12 Days of Blogmas day 5

It's getting close to the big day now, and I for one am so excited, this year Olivia seems be to taking so much in. I wanted to share with you all what I have gotten for Olivia, her age is a little awkward to buy for but I think that I have a good variety.

I have tried to be as equal as possible with both girls as I believe that it is important for it to be fair.

1. Orchard toy Farmyards heads and tails game - Amazon

This was brought many months ago during Amazon Prime day, I love the idea of having educational games ready for when she is. This seemed like quite a good one for learning the idea of puzzles and also learning the sounds and names of animals from the farm.

2. MerryXGift water doodle mat - Amazon

This again was a purchase through Amazon Prime day, Olivia has really gotten into her drawing and scribbling, this will be great to get out so that we can have some mess free drawing time together. It also comes with some stencils and stamps too which is an added bonus.

3. DUPLO My first alphabet truck - Very     &    DUPLO Unicorn train - B&M

These are two items I will put together, Olivia has loved her Duplo for a long time now, we had some left over from when Lilly was young. I picked up the Unicorn train first, this was only £4 and I thought it would be a great addition to what we have. I then found the alphabet truck, I love the idea of this being educational for her and something she can engage with.

4. That's not my sloth - Aldi  &  Cat's cookbook - Amazon & My colouring book, baby's first - Amazon

These three will make up one present as I thought it would work well together, she absolutely loves her books so that was a big thing that I was looking into, I picked up 'That's not my sloth' as she loves touchy feely books, she has a few now. I then got her a Julia Donaldson one, a new book called 'Cat's cookbook', we all love Julia Donaldson and its nice to get them started young. Lastly I picked up a my first colouring book, I wanted to get something that she could enjoy and be arty with.

5. Leapfrog count along till - Amazon

This was brought on a whim and I am so excited for this one, this again is an educational but something fun. It comes with some food and coins too which she can insert into the till. It is also interactive as it asks for certain amounts of things or food items.

6. Little town wooden fish and chip shop - Aldi (Santa's gift)

Lastly is the gift from the big man himself, this goes well with her wooden kitchen that she already has and I thought that it was such a unique gift, something that you wouldn't get anywhere else. it comes with so many bits and bobs for her to play with and she can incorporate the till mentioned above.

As you see I have got a few gifts that she is going to be able to grow with, something that she won't outgrow soon. I think it is also so important to but things that they can learn from without really knowing that they are.

If you have a child at a similar age what have you picked up?

My mental health

I don't really know why I am writing this but it may help me or someone else in the future, today I am low, very low, I feel very stuck in a rubbish situation and don't see it ever getting better. At the moment money is tight, very tight and it really is getting me down, I feel like I am letting everyone down. I want to be the best person I can be and the best Mum possible to my girls, I want to be able to provide a good life for them and don't want them to even know that we are ever struggling. I suffer from anxiety but this doesn't feel anything like that, this feels like a have got a weight in my heart, one that feels painful too, its like a constant sinking feeling that drains me too. I am tired and emotional and just had enough and I really don't know what to do or how to even take the next step. I really hope that one day soon we don't have to worry so much, that we can live a little more comfortable and that life gives us some luck as the pas

I have recently started making my own Cottage pie with a recipe that I have tweeted to work four our fussy family. I find that a cottage pie is such an Autumn/Winter staple as it feeling like such a warm, hearty meal, one that is a proper comfort meal.  I recently started making the meal and found that I didn't have a packet mix in so decided to find a recipe to try out, the first one I found sounded good but I changed it slightly to fit our family, Lils isn't keen on fresh onion ad none of us like celery.
