January recap | 2023

We have come to the end of January and I thought that I would do a monthly recap, a way to look back and remember how it was. January really hasn't been the kindest to us with illness including 2 lots of antibiotics, a punctured tyre and a small hospital stay for my Dad (he's home now). I feel like we need a break from it all and I hope that February is better in many ways. Some of the more positive things are that I made butter from scratch with some reduced cream. It was surprising tasty and easy to make too. Lilly has received her bronze star for 75 dojo's at school, she has been working so hard towards it and we are so proud of her. Olivia is making great progress with her potty training which is amazing.  I am going into February with a positive mindset and the hope for health for me, I hope to get out more with the girls now that I am feeling better, to try new recipes and to take everything with a pinch of salt. Diamond art from OneDaySaving #AdGifted

I have heard a lot about diamond art/diamond painting over the past year or so and have always been intrigued by it but never got around to getting any so when  onedaysaving  reached out to me to offer some sets to review, I couldn't say no. I was asked to pick some items off there website in which I picked a diamond art each for me, Liam and Lilly (Olivia's a little young) and a diamond art pen as I didn't know the set came with a pen. In each set you get your art work, every diamond that you need, a tray, a diamond pen and some wax to use with the pen. These sets were great value and the ones we picked start from just £4.23 a set. I have also kindly been given a discount code for my followers/readers which is for 5% your order. Discount: Victoria05OFF This would make a great gift for a family member with so many designs ranging from Disney, to Harry Potter to vehicles and so much more so there really is something for everyone. I have left the links down below

Gooey Flapjacks

A little simple family recipe for you again, this time for some very tasty and gooey flapjacks. I was given a bag of rolled out not long again and personally we don't like these for porridge so we found the next best thing. These are a great little treat to munch on with a cuppa and great to create with your little ones, Lilly and Olivia love to mix the oats in for me and pour the mixture into the tin too. Recipe: 125g Butter 100g Brown Sugar 4 tbsp Golden Syrup 275g rolled oats Method: 1. Preheat your oven to 180oC/gas mark 4. 2. Melt your butter, sugar and golden syrup together over a bain-marie (bowl over boiling pan of water). 3. Mix in the oats and stir until all the oats are completely covered. 4. Pour your oat mixture into an overproof tin line with baking paper. 5. Bake in the oven for around 30 minutes, until golden brown. 6. Cut to required size and leave to cool before removing from the tin. I hope you enjoyed this recipe, if you make I'd love to know, below is a vi

Mummy Outfit | Hoping for spring

Its been a long time since I have written an outfit post and never done one on this blog but I am in love with this outfit right now so wanted to share it. The colours in this outfit get me excited for spring and warmer weather even though I do love a bit of snow. I am not the most confident in my body and know I could do with losing a few pounds but I do love my sweet treats and I have a man who loves me for who I am.  Cardigan: The cardigan is from N utmeg in Morrisons and is only £13, the colour is gorgeous the the cardigan itself is cosy, soft and warm which is perfect for most of our seasons.    Jeans: The jeans are from Simply be which I brought through Next these are my comfiest jeans and fit so well, these retail for £24. T-shirt: The T-shirt is a basic white crew neck one from Next and are so cheap to buy, they are £6 each or £5.40 each if you buy more than one, I have these in other colours too. Learning and Growing with Lovevery #AdGifted

We were recently sent a play kit from  lovevery  to try out, these are a subscription box designed with your child's age in nind. We picked the Investigator play kit which is aimed at 31-33 months of age. This had lots of great things for Olivia to play with and learn from and has enjoyed them ever since.  Lovevery have the ideas of playtime with a purpose, each box has a theme which is based on the age play from the The explorer play kit for 9-10 months to the analyst play kit for 46-48 months. They include toys based on the developmental needs, a book with educational but fun stories and a play guide for how to play with the toys and other ways to play age based games.  The investigator kit contains hoops and beanbags, match and tap hammer kit, a liquid lab, twist and pivot pattern puzzle, play date book, a memory card game and a colour countdown timer which included a battery.  her favourite from the set is the hammer kit, it comes with cards with different patterns for Olivia t

Hello 2023!

Hello and a very Happy New Year, I hope that your Christmas and New year were magical, sadly I was poorly but am getting there. My blogmas really didn't go to plan as I haven't been 100% for weeks now but I am better....ish and back. This year I hope to make the best memories with my girls, to try new recipes, to be a better, happier person and to build my blog and YouTube channel to what I want them to be. I don't make resolutions anymore as I always have a pressure that I have to do them and if it goes wrong I feel guilty for it. New years eve for us was quiet, I made some homemade sausage rolls and mince pies, played the switch with Lils and chilled on the sofa, we saw the new year in with Sam Ryder and the amazing London fire works and drones on BBC. The best way, with family around and good food. I know this was a short post but I just wanted yo wish everyone the best in 2023. What are your plans for 2023? Do you have any holidays or days out planned?  Victoria
