July recap | 2023

This month has flown by and we are fast approaching Autumn, if for one cannot wait. We are finally in the Summer holidays, well Lilly is as we have made the decision to keep Olivia in nursery over the holidays to keep the routine.  July started off with another trip to  Brands Hatch  for the Super touring power event in which we met Jake Hill and had a great family day out. This month has also been a big one for dressing up as pirates. Our town is very big on pirates and actually holds the world record for the largest gathering of pirates which was 14,231 all together. This year Olivia's nursery had pirate day and she got to go as a pirate with pirate themed activities to keep them amused and over the weekend me and the girls took part in the pirate parade together, its such a lovely weekend and the girls seemed to love it. Lils had a busy month with sports day, rugby trial, a beach party and the end of year 5 just being part of it, the end of school has made me a littl

Air fryer roast potatoes

We have recently got an air fryer and so far I am in love with it. One of the first things that I tried to cook was roast potatoes and they were honestly the best roasts I have ever tasted and so easy to create too. You will need: 4 medium Potatoes 2 tbsp oil Salt and pepper Method 1. Peel and cut you potatoes in to half and half again. 2. Par boil you potatoes for 10-15 mins, when draining give them a shake to fluff the edges up. 3. Leave to steam for a few. 4. Coat your potatoes in the oil and toss until covered, add the salt and pepper and toss again 5. Place in your air fryer on 200°c for 25-30 mins until golden brown. 6. Serve. These have honestly so tasty and have come out perfect every time we have tried them, still fluffy inside with a nice outer costing.  You could add some herbs such a rosemary to add even more flavour, perfect for a roast. Summer holidays | Activities that won't break the bank

With the summer holidays fast approaching I am trying to think of ways to keep the kids entertained that don't break the bank. Brands hatch | Super Touring Power | 1st July 2023

Today we have visited Brands Hatch race circuit in Kent to enjoy the Super Touring Power event, this is one that we have never been to but one we will definitely be going to again. The event is based around celebrating different eras of BTCC cars including pre 03/pre 93 and Thunder and Jaguar and of course the Super tourers, this is the first year that this event has gone on. Today the event took place on the GP track and whizzes down the straights with such a noise, there were so many cars to see with some races having 40 different vehicles on the track at once, the different eras of car as well really made the day more entertaining and it was great to see some classics on the track. This event also has pit lane access and normal pit access to so you can have a look around the cars that are not racing and interact with the racers too. In fact we managed to meet Jake Hill who is currently 3rd in the driver standings in British touring cars, he was very friendly and
