July recap | 2023

Image
This month has flown by and we are fast approaching Autumn, if for one cannot wait. We are finally in the Summer holidays, well Lilly is as we have made the decision to keep Olivia in nursery over the holidays to keep the routine.  July started off with another trip to  Brands Hatch  for the Super touring power event in which we met Jake Hill and had a great family day out. This month has also been a big one for dressing up as pirates. Our town is very big on pirates and actually holds the world record for the largest gathering of pirates which was 14,231 all together. This year Olivia's nursery had pirate day and she got to go as a pirate with pirate themed activities to keep them amused and over the weekend me and the girls took part in the pirate parade together, its such a lovely weekend and the girls seemed to love it. Lils had a busy month with sports day, rugby trial, a beach party and the end of year 5 just being part of it, the end of school has made ...

June recap | 2023

June has been a busy month but one that has been good 90% of the time, its been a hot one and if you read my last blog post you will know that it doesn't help my  Mental health  at all, its been a bit tough for that reason but luckily it has cooled for the moment. Lilly has had a busy month starting off with a cinema trip with her guide group to go and see the new Little Mermaid, she absolutely loved it and can't wait to watch it again. She has had two visits from the tooth fairy this one, for some of the larger teeth at the back, she is honestly growing too fast. Lastly Lilly made me and her Dad so proud when she competed in town sports today and went on to win two 2nd place medals for discus and 60m sprint.  Olivia has also had a big month starting off with water fights with her big sister and finally getting fully back into nursery with the confidence she had a few month back ( she became scared of nursery back in late April). Olivia has also made a huge le...

May Recap | 2023

Image
Wow! We are just about to make it half way though 2023, how is that possible? We have had a pretty full on month but its been a good one full of making memories. We started off the month with Jack in the green, this is a local event that happens every May day and is a celebration of Spring/Summer. This is probably one of my favourite events that our local town put on as its such a positive and fun atmosphere. The same week we also took a trip to Circus Zyair  with Liam's Mum and watched King Charles Coronation.  The weather this month has been beautiful and we have tried to take full advantage of it and enjoy the sun while we can, we have been over Nannies garden, going on walks and generally being outside in the fresh air (I do wish we had a garden though). On the 25th of this month Liam and I celebrated our 15th anniversary, I can't believe we have made it this far, he has honestly been my rock through some of the hardest times and we have laughed until we have c...

April recap | 2023

Another month has flown by and this one has been a busy one full of fun and making memories, my health has been so much better again and lets hope it stays that way, I do not like being ill at all.  We started off this month with half term and what a crazy two weeks it was, we started it off with a trip to Hastings seafront for some fun in the sun, which has poked its head through a few times. The girls enjoyed some fun on the trampolines before enjoying some doughnuts. I had  my very first evening out without Liam or the kids since having them to go and see Blood Brothers Musical at our local theare, I absolutely love this show and it has revived my love for theatre so much.  We then entered the Easter weekend full of chocolate, games and a trip to  Brighton Sealife  as an early Birthday treat for Olivia. That's right, my baby girl turned 3, we had a lovely day celebrating her birthday on her actual birthday with a family BBQ over nanny's and was sp...

March Recap | 2023

Image
March has come to an end and again I would like to say good riddance, there has been a few good times this month but its been one full of illness again and not just me this time.  We started off with world book day, this was so nice for the girls and a great opportunity for them to dress up in costumes. Olivia was the Gruffalo, she absolutely loves this story so knew she would love it. Lils dressed as Lucy from the Creakers, she again loves the story and hers is something she can wear again. We then started with the illness, first was Olivia with a sickness bug which came on so quick but left equally as fast as it came, then I followed a couple of days later and could not even move out of bed, then it hit Lils who just wanted to sleep. When that was over Olivia was diagnosed with Impetigo so had to have a week off nursery. I am again not 100% but am getting there again. The other good parts of this month were Mothers day, I was spoilt by the girls who got me some lovely...

February recap | 2023

Image
How are we at the end of February already? I feel like this year is flying by. I really enjoyed writing a little recap last month and this month has been a lot better. We started off with a little Mum and Lilly day, she had an inset day from school and I took the opportunity to spoil my girl. We started with a Mcdonalds breakfast and finished in the arcades at the 2p machines. Finally I am feeling better so I have taken the girls out more, on walks and to the park to make up for the past couple of months. The fresh air has done the world of good for my mental health and I feel the girls really appreciated the time too. We celebrated Valentines day with a few little gifts and Liam cooked me a love dinner, we had homemade burger and chips. During half term we visited  Scotney Castle  and hunted out some dinosaurs, we made cookies, visited family and went on a lovely walk to find some horses. The past week we have enjoyed some pancakes for pancake day, Olivia is not a fan of crep...

January recap | 2023

Image
We have come to the end of January and I thought that I would do a monthly recap, a way to look back and remember how it was. January really hasn't been the kindest to us with illness including 2 lots of antibiotics, a punctured tyre and a small hospital stay for my Dad (he's home now). I feel like we need a break from it all and I hope that February is better in many ways. Some of the more positive things are that I made butter from scratch with some reduced cream. It was surprising tasty and easy to make too. Lilly has received her bronze star for 75 dojo's at school, she has been working so hard towards it and we are so proud of her. Olivia is making great progress with her potty training which is amazing.  I am going into February with a positive mindset and the hope for health for me, I hope to get out more with the girls now that I am feeling better, to try new recipes and to take everything with a pinch of salt.
