April recap | 2023

Another month has flown by and this one has been a busy one full of fun and making memories, my health has been so much better again and lets hope it stays that way, I do not like being ill at all.  We started off this month with half term and what a crazy two weeks it was, we started it off with a trip to Hastings seafront for some fun in the sun, which has poked its head through a few times. The girls enjoyed some fun on the trampolines before enjoying some doughnuts. I had  my very first evening out without Liam or the kids since having them to go and see Blood Brothers Musical at our local theare, I absolutely love this show and it has revived my love for theatre so much.  We then entered the Easter weekend full of chocolate, games and a trip to  Brighton Sealife  as an early Birthday treat for Olivia. That's right, my baby girl turned 3, we had a lovely day celebrating her birthday on her actual birthday with a family BBQ over nanny's and was spoilt rotten. The

Pasta bolognese recipe

I have really been enjoying cooking lately and experimenting with different things, this is more of a simple recipe and one that goes down so well with the kids, a simple bolognese sauce with things that are normally in your cupboard.  We do normally bulk this out with some veggies for the girls which certainly adds to the flavour and can make the meal go even further.  Recipe: 500g Mince meat, normally beef 1 x pasata carton 1 tbs tomato paste 1 tsp Garlic granules 1 tsp Onion granules  (better if you don't like the texture of cooked onions) 1 tsp Mixed herbs Salt and pepper Vegetables we add: Mushrooms Peppers sweetcorn Method: 1. Brown off your mince and drain excess oil then place back in the pan. 2. If you are using mushrooms or peppers then add now to slightly cook. 3. pour in the pasata and tomato paste and stir in well. 4. Add all your herbs and mix in well 5. leave to simmer for 10-15 minutes stirring occasionally  6. Serve with your favourite pasta, garlic bre

Toddler Outfit | Birthday ready

I really wanted to share with you Olivias outfit for her 3rd birthday as I honestly think that it's one of my favourite things that she has worn.  Thw dress is a beautiful coral shade with the bodice being coral and white stripped with an adorable face stitched on, the skirt part has layers of netting which looks beautiful. You can get Nutmeg which is Morrisons, it came with a headband that matched the pattern on the ears on the car face. The dress and headband combined cost £13. I paired her dress with some tights, a white cardigan (when we went out) and her unicorn wellies as we were in a garden.  Victoria

Currently Reading | Beyond the Wand - Tom Felton

I used to write similar posts on my old blog and wanted to start making a record of the book that I have read and enjoyed, the first book that I am going to talk about and am still currently reading is  Beyond the Wand  by Tom Felton. This is one of the first Autobiographies that I have read. I have been a Potter fan for a very long time and I am always intrigued to know more about the wizarding world and find out about behind the scenes of the filming side of the world. It starts off from the start of his acting career and goes through his struggles and successes of auditioning, life and being part of the public eye.  I have so far found his book fantastic, he really has gone into detail things that have made him who he is today and its refreshing to hear that they are only human as sometimes I think we find celebrities a different breed to us. The chapters in the book have two different versions, one more personal to the events in the chapter. I find that this book is a g

Birthday Presents for Olivia | Gift ideas for a 3 year old

This year I have really struggled to find gifts for Olivia who is turning 3 tomorrow so I thought it would be a great idea to share what we have to help others out. We also had a day out with Olivia at  Brighton Sea life  which we thought that she would really enjoy.  Olivia is at the age where she is only just really getting into things but already has a lot of things that she loves so I wanted to get her things that she would really enjoy and learn from too.  We have  The Smeds and the Smoos  book for her which is her favorite Julia Donaldson thing to watch right now, we absoloutly love all her stories and its a great addition to her ever growing collection. The  Rocket bath bomb  from Zimpli Kidz is a little added extra as I saw it on amazon and thought she would enjoy it, just a little something to put a smile on her face. I also picked up  Greedy Granny game , I saw this shared on someones Instagram stories and instantly thought that Olivia would love this, she has pl

Brighton Sea life

We have had a recent trip to Brighton sea life centre for Olivia's birthday treat, we were over that way and decided to make a day of it. When visiting the sea life you need to book in advance which is easily done on there website.  Upon entering the centre you are welcomed to the aquarium and have a couple of photos taken just before you go into the first section, these are available to purchase at the end. I did decide to get our family one, along with a photo of Olivia with there special guest, Peppa Pig, they are £12 for one or 2 for £15. Peppa pig is available to see at certain points during the day until the 4th of June. The first part of the aquarium starts in a colourful illuminated room which some smaller sized tanks, there is a lip for younger children to stand on so they can get a better look, about half way up there is a tank for rays and cat fish, a small area to be able to touch star fish, a conservation area and a small cafe area. Past that there were more tanks with

Blood Brothers the Musical | White Rock Theatre Hastings

Wednesday this week was a big night for me, it was my first night out since having kids, yes I mean kids, I have not had a night out on my own since before I had Lilly just because I haven't had anywhere to go. Well this week I have an invite to join my friend to watch the Blood Brothers musical. This is a musical that has been part of my life since secondary school and one that I feel deeply impacted by, it has a huge place in my heart and I believe that its a very underrated musical.  It tells a tail of two twins who were separated at birth through a binding contract between the mother and her employer, there is a prophecy that looms over which says that if they ever find out they will die. The musical goes through there life where situations keep drawing them back together until a fateful day where they do found out the truth.  It's such a powerful and emotional musical with incredible songs that last with you for at least the res

Easter basket | 2023

We are finally in the Easter holidays so I am prepping the girls annual Easter basket, I try to get bits that will keep them occupied when we have a wet day or if we have no plans. I have a mixture of items from The works, Poundland and Aldi too. I found that The Works didn't have a great deal of crafty bits this year but picked up some Easter themed games instead, I picked up  Bunny ring toss  which includes an inflatable bunny and 4 rings to throw over the ears, Easter bingo which I thought would be a good one for me and Lils this year and Easter magnets to colour in, these aren't all Easter as such and thought the girls would enjoy. I picked up some plaster Easter characters to paint from Poundland, this is something I pick up every year and we have many from the previous years that we decorate the house with.  Lastly were some sweet treats from Aldi, I picked up a chocolate gonk each, these sounds funny and were 59p and I have also grabbed two bags of cream fill
