A pocket of my life

July was a busy one for us, from theatre trips, days out and even a little trip away for me and Liam. July started with our first trip to the theatre, this was a pretty inpromptu trip as a friend offered a ticker for me to see 2:22 A ghost story  and wow what a show it was. The next weekend was our second, and last show of the month was one mainly for Olivia but enjoyed by all of us, Bluey's big show .  The next week was the lasy week of school, it been a hot tem and I was/am so ready for the rest. It was an emotional one leaving the children and moving to another year group but I am excited for the experience. Lilly took part in her sports day in the last week of term too and came home with 4 medals, a 1st in the 100m sprint and 2nd in three other events, she honestly smashed it. June has been busy and hot!! Our month started with a surprise birthday party, new glasses for Lils and back to school fun. The party was for a family member who had no idea luckily, it was so lovely to see all the family again. We then took a trip to watch banger racing, we travelled to Arlington raceway and spent the night with friends watching some very fun racing. This is when the weather changed a bit and started creeping up, we took the kids to the travelling funfair which was a blast, Lils went on all the rides but one, shes crazy haha, and even Olivia was brave and went on the bigger chair-o-planes. It was a great fair and it was suprisingly quiet when we went. The weekend continued with the heat and we decided to enjoy a day at the beach, it was one of those days that I feel like we really needed, swimming in the sea, making sandcastles and trying to move our stuff whilst the tide tried to race us.  The heat really ramped up last week, we felt temperatures of 3...

May, what can I say? You were a blast and I wish we could live it over again! The month started with a trip to the travelling fun fair, the girls have never been to one before but they had an amazing time.  We also celebrated May day the only way people for our area know, with Jack in the green and the May day bike run, this honestly sets the month off in such a lovely way, everyone seems happy and its just so much fun.  Most of the month we have been finalising the plans for mine and Liams wedding, we have been crafting, organising and just generally getting ready. I took a day off work to enjoy some time with him, we had lunch together and had a mooch around our local town. The weekend before we got married I went and got my nails done, and then I got to celebrate one of my friends hen do's. January has felt like a slog and what a miserable one for the weather too. I am definitely ready for February and the lighter mornings and evenings.  We have had a very quiet month, not a lot happening really, we just tried to make the most of the time and have tried to get jobs done that we can.  We started off with a little bit of excitement with a dusting of snow, and I mean a dusting. Our town never seems to enjoy the large amounts of snow but I am glad that we got some for the girls to throw some snowballs.  The next week was back to work and school, I struggled with this a little as I felt the Christmas holidays went so fast but we are fully back into the flow of it all now.  The next couple of weeks have been full of organising the house and starting to work on the garden too, making it ready for summer so we can take full advantage of it. December was probably one of the busiest months ever! I Feel like we didnt stop and this was thrown in with illness too. The start if December was a little slow compared to the end. We started off with unpacking and an IKEA trip for furniture, which then lead to lots of building of said furniture so we could finally make this house a home. We have also been planning our wedding too, with parcels being delivered, dresses to try on and invites to get sent out. We do like to add to all the manic stress of it all. Goodbye November, you have been a strange one, one that has felt too long and too short at the same time.  I think because this month has been quite a slow one for plans and just one of sorting the house out as best as we can it has caused the month to drag. We started the month off with watching some fireworks from our garden that a local school put on and we also had fun with some sparklers too. It was nice to have that time and watch the girls smile.  We had a couple of dress up days at school, including pudsey day and a phoncs dress up too. Travelling back on the school run we have witnessed many beautiful sunsets too, the perks of having to travel a bit for school. The end of the month has become very festive, we went into our local town to watch the Christmas lights switch on, they had some stalls set up, some donkeys to meet and panto cast from both the local pantomimes. This post is so late and for that I apologise, it has been a crazy couple of weeks, and now August feels like a distant memory. August started quite slow and quiet with just a few trips to the park with the girls, baking and relaxing after a crazy last term at school. This was well needed and I really enjoyed the slower mornings and enjoying time with the girls, during this time we also decided to try out some  natural tie dye , this actually turned out fantastic and we will be trying this again. Me and the girls took part in Hastings carnival with the school, my Dad and Angie also had there own creation in the parade of Chitty, it was amazing as always. The acutal parade was great, the weather was good and the atmosphere was incredible, I forgot how much I liked being part of it all. Goodbye July, its been good! We started off the month strong with a quiz night at guides, it was such a laugh but we did come last which meant we came home with teh wooded spoon, Lils also got presented her badges for the past few months at guides too. We also had lots of time in the garden and enjoyed the bbq aswell. The weather has been lush, hot but lush.  Before the schools broke up Lils took part in a show with her band for the first time, she honestly smashed it, she was lead singer and they song 'We will rock you', she also performed with the choir too. This was an end of the school year celebration. Olivia also had pirate day in the last week of term which meant dressing up time. We ended the schoo, year with many gifts and cards, which made me feel so overwhelmed and loved and on the last day of term we enjoyed a few drinks together in the sun/cloud. Well that flew by, it feels like only yesterday I was writing Mays post. We have had a really good month, busy but good. The weather for the most part has been beautiful, hotter than we would like some says but the sun has been a welcome part. It meant that we have had a lot of time outside, either in the garden or for days out.  The month started with getting back to work and getting to know snowy better, we spent a lot of time in the garden and making sure that it is fully ready for summer. The following weekend, me and Lilly took part in our second race for life  in our local park, this one I wanted to beat lasts year time and we did that by 5 minutes in total and together we raised over £150, after Liam decided on a last minute BBQ, the first one of many at the house. Father's day was quiet this year, we had another bbq fhe night before as Liams mate visited and then we spoilt hkm the next day with some gifts and a meal he liked in the evening.  Last weeke...

Where did May go? It has been and gone within a flash but we have managed to get so much done in just one month! May started off with the end of half term and May day, Hastings celebrates May day in a different way to many people with an event called Jack in the Green . This is a day that I really enjoy, the atmosphere and the mood is so positive and fresh and then you get the added bonus of the bike run too. Its one day that we try not to miss and Lils got to be in the parade too. We have spent lots of time enjoying the garden, cycling and getting out in the sunshine while it lasted. We have planted the sunflowers and started to grow some strawberries too. Still can't believe that we actually have a garden. The next half term was here in a flash, it started with mine and Liam's 17th anniversary, we enjoyed fish and chips on the beach with the girls and just had a really chill day. April has been and gone in a flash, with birthdays, Easter, half term and illness thrown into the mix. We started off the month with the last week of term, a trip to a fort for me and an Easter bonnet parade to finish the term. Half term started off amazing, Lils learnt how to ride her bike in under 30 minutes and is now flying every time she rides. Olivia has also been having fun on her bike, flying along the path down the back of ours.  But I was struck with my second lot of tonsillitis and a chest infection to contend with. Luckily with antibiotics I was better in no time.  Next was Olivias 5th birthday! How is she 5? We had a lovely chilled day, she opened her presents and then we took her swimming, had family round and enjoyed lots of cake and treats.  Easter followed just after, this year was so nice as I was actually able to set up an outdoor egg hunt, the girls loved it and it really put a smile on my face. Well March flew by in a flash, with events and trips at school, renovating the garden and feeling so poorly with tonsillitis, throw in Liams birthday and Mother's day and you have a full month of craziness.  March started off with dressing up as book characters, both me and Olivia dressed up for school, I was princess Pearl from Zog and the flying doctors and Olivia was Alice in Wonderland. It's such an odd job where you can go in dressed up as a character. We also enjoyed pancake day as a family, Olivia isn't keen on the crepe style burlt still had a go at flipping one. The middle of the month was quite slow, I ended up getting tonsillitis and was quite poorly with it. Liam was incredible and kept an eye on me and the girls to let me rest and feel better.  We have started renovating our garden with overfeeding the whole garden, planting bulbs and giving the fence a really good jet wash, the garden is looking so different already and I cannot wait for summer to ...

February actually went by in a flash for me, we had so much going on I don't feel like I stopped. There has been parties, half term and work being crazy busy too, I feel like I need another half term to refresh. Our month started quite slow with just school, the girls clubs and meeting family, but once Valenitnes hit the month went full speed. We had a lovely chilled Valentimes, I got the girls some small gifts and me and Liam shared gifts and a meal together at home, we watched a film and went to bed. The week after was half term which was lovely, I really enjoyed the time of and the time with the girls, we took some trips and had some time at home too. the week started woith a trip to the cinema to watch paddington in Peru, we took a trip to Sissinghurt Castle   and Olivia made her Rainbow promise on world thinking day. January has been a long one and I am glad that it's over, it's not been a bad one, don't get me wrong but I always find January a hard one, emotionally  The month started off with a spot of gardening, we finally managed to get out in the cold but dry days and clear a bit, I spent a good few hours clearing out the back which was hiding a beautiful stream behind.  It was then back to school and work, back to normality and I was not ready for it, it was definitely a shock to the system. Olivia has been doing amazing with her reading and even got herself the reading certificate at school. Lils has been hard at school getting life done and being a typical preteen experimenting with make up and gossiping with her friends, I really wish time would slow down.  This mone has been a cold one with many a frosty morning,  it looks beautiful but is such a pain to sort the car when leaving for work. I think December 2024 has been the busiest month of my life, along with moving, working and Christmas all taking up time, I am glad for the little best of quiet before going back to work next week. December started off with us moving house , this has been the craziest thing ever and it still doesn't feel real that we have moved and won't be going back to the flat ever again. Don't get me wrong, I couldn't wait to move but I will miss the view from the flat and it makes me emotional thinking about all the memories we have made together there. I have also been trying to keep it as normal as possible for the kids so we took a trip to a festive day at our local shopping centre, they had a merry-go-round, hook a duck, candy floss and Sanea reading stories. We also managed to visit Santa properly the week after which Olivia loved.  In the middle of the month we took a trip to Sheffield park for The Snowman event that they had running, this was a chance to catch up with my Da...

This month has been CRAZY and one that I won't forget! It involved making so many memories and so many smiles! We started our month off with an impromptu car show that we found on a shopping trip, the girls loved it and the cars were so cute too. We also attend pur first and second bonfire this month with Hastings at the beginning and Staplecross one at the end. I love bonfire night as it makes me feel so cosy and happy.  The best day that we had was seeing Mcfly for the first time at the o2 arena, we managed to get tickets for their 21st birthday party concert and I honestly had the best night. Me and Lils were singing along and dancing and having the time of our life.  A couple of day trips included scotney castle and lime tree farm. Scotney castle is a beautiful place owned by the National trust and has some lovely grounds for the girls to explore. July has been an emotional one, one full of tears and closing of chapters but one full of fun and memories.  We started off the month with a lovely badge ceremony at Guides where we learnt that lils has earnt both her bronze and silver awards along with some other badges too. Olivia also had a fun start to the month with a teddy bear picnic at her new school, this was an opportunity to meet other children that are joining along with meeting their teachers again before joining in September. We then get on to the moments that brought a tear to my eye, firstly was Lilly's year 6 prom, an evening to celebrate the years 6's together before them breaking up, she picked a beautiful dress off vinted which was a lipsy one and had photos on the red carpet before going in. Lils had an amazing time and will hopefully take those memories with her. Goodbye June and hello July, it has been a crazy month with so much going on and so many highs! We started off last month with a job interview for me and I am pleased to say that i got the job, I start in September which is so exciting and hopefully a new chapter for us. Liam has been enjoying his job and has a tan that many people would envy. The girls have had transition days and meetings for there new school and have done amazing! This certainly was the month of change. Me and Lils took part in the  race for life  this month which I am so proud of, we raised £150 for cancer research, a charity very close to our heart and are so grateful for everyone that sponsored us. Liam was sadly working on Fathers day so we celebrated on the Saturday, on the Sunday we spent time with my Dad at Bodiam castle, a beautiful national trust location with lots to explore. May has been a wild one and one that has had a lot of smiles and memories made. The highlight of this month was that Liam has got himself a job which he is loving. It seems so odd to have him out the house but we are all so happy for him. The start of May me and Lils went to Eastbourne to see  Everybody's talking about Jamie  which was incredible, we also managed to get to stage door and meet some of the cast too, something I have never done before. Lils also competed for there school that week and smashed the 75m sprint coming in 2nd. A few days later we got to experience seeing the Northern lights, well kind of, We were able to see them through a photo we we took them but sadly not with our eyes.  Lils has also taken part in her SAT's exams and she did so well, there was so much pressure on them for these, more from themselves than anyone else but she honestly did us so proud getting through them with a smile on her face. What a month, April was a good one and one that I won't forget. We started off with half term, two weeks of fun but the weather wasn't on our side for some of the time. The girls spent most of the time in a tent that I put together for them, something I love to do during half terms.  At the end of the holidays we took a trip to  Wingham wildlife park  for Olivias birthday treat day, this place is honestly amazing and we will definitely be taking a trip again. A few days later we celebrated her actual birthday, she is officially 4 which is crazy. She had nursery and then we took her to the park for some fun on her new scooter, we then visited Granny and grandad for presents and cake and finished the night with McDonald's. She was so thankful throughout the day which was so sweet. After that is was back to the crazy school runs and getting everything caught up on.
