Partial eclipse and Meteor shower

Image
I am still buzzing from last night! Yesterday was a very sky orintated day for us with the patrial eclipse happening in the UK. We took a trip down to out local seafront to watch, I was organised enough to buy the speical glasses a week ago so we could all enjoy it. The amount of people out and about last night was crazy and the stmosphere was lovely. The girls played on the beach and came up every so often to have a look at how much of the sun was covered.  We watched from about 6.45pm to around 7.30pm and got a great viewof it going over. It is such a weird feeling as you can feel the temperature drop and the day light went very sepia like, it was like watching someone turn the contrast down. When we got home it was betime for Oli so we read a space story to keep on theme.  Later that night there was a meteor shower happening and every other time I have missed them or its been cloudy, but this time it was clear and I was awake. I first started by looking out of t...

We're moving (again)

Image
This is a post that I didn't think I would be writing this soon but yes, we are moving, again!  Circumstances have changed in the past couple of months which has meant that we have had to look for somewhere else to live, this has been a very stressful, crazy time but it is coming to an end. On Monday last week we signed the papers and got the keys to our new home! My emotions have been through the roof, from frustation and anger at the situation, excitment and nervousness about moving but sad about leaving this house as we have started to really make it feel homely.  The past week Liam has been working his socks off decorating the place and making it homely, with me helping over the weekend. The next week or so will be Liam finishing the decoating and us finishing packing up the house before our move at the weekend then to unpack it all in the new house and get that sorted as soon as possible.  Lets hope this is our home for longer than the one we ...

Losing my Mum | 4 years on

Image
It has been just over 4 years since my Mum passed away and I feep like it is important to document the process of grief.  We always knew that Mum wasn't going to have as much time as others because pf all her problems but that didn't make it any easier when the day eventually came. I fell like this year was the hardest anniversaries that I have faced since she left us. I don't know weather is because the longer that she has been gone is the thought of her memory fading or just how this past year has been.  My Dad had a gift made for me, a necklace which includes some of Mums ashes, I don't quite know how I feel about it, I think it's beautiful and like the idea of being able to have her with me and I will always be eternally grateful for but there is a part that finds it a little weird. I know that a part of me will always miss her and I hope that I am making her proud, she was my best friend who I could always moan to, be honest with and giggle until ...

Feeling guilty with second child.

Image
Written at 4am, 4 days post partem  I have so many emotions going through my system right now but one of the main ones is guilt. Guilt for Lilly that she isn't getting as much attention as she was before, I knew it was going to be like this and so did she, we are always open with her and I will always be there is she needs me. The guilt that I feel for Liam is stronger though, having a second child was my decision and so far it hasn't been too bad. The issue is that Liam struggles with the screams with every bum change, and to be honest I don't blame him, she screams for dear life. The other is that he is currently sleeping in the front room because he couldn't sleep, I am not sure why but I think that it is because she is being noisy tonight, not crying but constant little noises. He has expressed that he is enjoying having a second but I just feel that he is going to resent me in the end for the decision and I am going to feel so guilty every time he feels...
