August Recap | 2023

Wow, August flew by in a flash and has been a blast, the summer holidays are coming to an end but we have tried to cram as much as we can into the past month.  August started off with a few adventures, we found a new play park which the girls both loved, there was something for both the girls to enjoy and they even got me to join in. Me and Lilly also spent some time on the beach whilst Liam was busy, it was nice to have this time with her whilst Olivia was in nursery. On the rainy days we built a den that the girls could sleep in, Olivia's first one, we made it comfy and cosy and the girls loved it. It was something we used to do before having Olivia so it was nice to bring this sort of thing back into Lils world. Another thing me and Lilly enjoyed was an open air cinema , I had planned this a couple of months back with Liam so that I could have some one on one time with Lils. It was a brilliant night and we both came away smiling, I will definitely do it again.   We h

What's in our TriyIt box

We have been picked for the latest TritIt box to review, I have never actually shared one of these on here before but I thought it would be interesting to share what things I have been sent to try. Firstly this on one of the strongest boxes we have received for things that we will use and enjoy. Whiskas cat meat - We have two sachets of chicken in gravy for Jack to try, this is perfect as Whiskas is our favourite brand for Jack and he has always enjoyed it. Opihr Gin - There were two small bottles of Gin in two different flavours, Aromatic Bitters and Oriental spice, these sound very tasty and we can't wait to give them a try. Lyles topping syrup (maple) - We got a full size bottle of this to try, none of us have actually tried this before so we are very excited to try this. Whyte and Mackay Whiskey - There was a small bottle of this whiskey in there and Liam is very happy with this as its a brand of Whiskey that he is familiar with Shanky's whip whiskey -  This whiskey is a

Open air cinema | The Greatest showman

Last week me and Lilly had a Mummy daughter evening and took a trip to Hastings pier to watch The Greatest Showman at an open air theatre. I had been planning something like this before we even knew about what that were showing.  Once they had announced that they were showing we sat down and went through the films and picked this one, we both felt it would be fun to watch together and a nice feel good evening. The evening turned out with cost just £10 including booking fee which I felt was a great price. The event itself had refreshment vans which you could buy a wide array of food from burgers to popcorn and sweets and also had a bar for the adults to enjoy. We got ourselves some popcorn and drinks to enjoy whilst watching and settled in for the film with our jackets and blankets to keep us cosy, I wish we had taken bigger ones though as it did get a little chilly by the end. The atmosphere was brilliant, the show was shown on a big screen which was on a stage wit

conturve shaping shorts | Review | ADGifted

Ever since having Olivia I have been self conscious about my tummy area, I have an overhang and a bigger belly than I had so finding something to wear that I feel comfy in is hard. This is where conturve has come into play, I have been trying out the high waisted shaping shorts, these are a game changer with there silicone band along the top to make sure they stay up for all day wear.  Conturve is a brand that to give women of all shapes and sizes a shot of confidence in hope that you'll love you body. I certainly feel that this brand has such a great sense of belonging in this day and age, its a great way to promote that everyone is allowed to feel comfy with how you feel. The high waisted shaping shorts have been a win for me, they are so comfy to wear under dresses or just with a t-shirt to make an outfit, they are so versatile and easy to style. I was a little unsure with how well they would work before trying them on but they soften out my tummy and give me a bit

currently reading | Walking on Sunshine

A story from 3 sides, a story of love, loss and adventure, that's what you get with this beautiful novel from Giovanna Fletcher. I have been reading this book for around 2 weeks now and I'm around half way through (which is fast for me). I am so far loving the story and the way that it flows between characters with ease. Walking on Sunshine revolves around three main characters, Mike, Vicky and Zaza, and there families too, each chapter is dedicated to a different character and there perspective of what is happening within the scene.   Giovanna knows how to pull at your emotions with every book she writes and this one is no exception, I have laughed and cried so far and I'm sure there be more tears before the end. I would highly recommend if you love a romance / friendship story.

Mental health | Anxiety in my preteen

Since I talk about my mental health on here, I wanted to share a little about what has happened recently which I would love to get some advice on.  Lilly has been experiencing some small episodes of anxiety, mainly at bed time and it coincides with what I experience too, she has a fear that she will not wake up when she goes to bed, I believe that we all go through phases of this but its really hard to watch this within your child. Lilly is 10, almost 11 and she has experienced a lot of death in her life, including two of her grandparents and 2 pets, I believe that this may have a part in what she is feeling but I am not quite sure how I am meant to help. We are trying to let her sleep with tv on and to listen out for words to help take her mind off the actual falling asleep, it does seem to help but not 100% but I do hope that Lilly comes out the other side or at least learns some ways to cope with it in her own way. My main reason for this post was to hopefully some some advice from
