December recap | 2023

Well December has flown by and what an adventure it has been. There have been highs and lows and memories made. We started off with a slow week or so with school runs, my TA course and decorating for Christmas.  As we got into the month it got things got crazy and very festive, we took our annual trip to Westfield Christmas lights and Lilly's final festive performance at primary school which was emotional. Sadly my Dad also ended up in hospital for the first of 3 visits. School ended and Lils had to sleep overs back to back and then sadly became poorly with a sickness bug which luckily only lasted a couple of days.  Once she was better me and her took a trip to Brighton to see SIX the musical, it was the most amazing show and a night to remember. This was followed by the Christmas train which is an annual festive event, its such a nice family thing we do and really puts you in the mood. Christmas eve came and Liam's Mum came to join us, we baked and watched films. ...

Adventures in the woods

Some days you just need to let your kids blast off some energy and be tech free and what best place to do it than the woods. We always like to find new places to explore but this one is a familiar place to us, it's quite a hidden walk with some mini waterfalls and bridges to cross. We took this adventure with some of Lils friends which always makes them more exciting with them making there own story up as we took the trail, we also love to meet the dogs that are being walked. I think it is so important to let kids be kids without tech being involved and using there imaginations. I spent a lot of my time in the woods making memories and I hope that it continues with our children too. At this point little one is way too small to take these trails so I use the carrier, she loves watching lils run around and we try to involve her as much as possible.
