March recap | 2026

Goodbye March and hello April! I have actually really enjoyed March, its been a month of sun, family time and finally leaving the house for adventures with the girls. The month started off with world book day, the girls both dress as Alice in Wonderland and I was the giraffe from The smartest giant in town. I absoloutly love days like these both as a parent and as someone who works in a school and its just a lot of fun.  We took trips to the local park, planted stuff in our garden and green house and generally enjoyed the sun when it was out, this has been something that I have been craving for a while now so I am glad that the darker, wetter days are fewer right now. We also took a trip to the beach, this one was to find some dinosaur footprints and to enjoy an iceream on the seafront, the sun was shining, the beach was beautiful and it was just a lovely afternoon out.  Mothers day followed, this was lovely but dinner didn't go to plan, Liam started cooking a love...

To Mum on Mothers day

Image
To Mum,         Its been 9 years since we last since we last spent a Mothers day together, and that one wasn't exactly what you deserved. It was spent woth you in hospital not well.  Weirdly this year was a little bit easier than previous year's, dont get me wrong it still hurt and I will always think of you but I was able to enjoy the day without too much emotion.  Its been a weird year for missing you, some days I feel like the whole world is on my shoulders and I need to vent to you, you were always there to listen and understood my issues. Other days a ok and feel normal in the best sense.  Being a Mum myself on mothers day really does help I think, knowing that I have 2 monkeys to keep my mind occupied and make me smile gives me that sense of purpose for the day. I really hope you are proud of who I have become, and I really do wish you were here to enjoy our story still, to watch the girls grow and finally watch me get married. Love you and...

March Recap | 2025

Well March flew by in a flash, with events and trips at school, renovating the garden and feeling so poorly with tonsillitis, throw in Liams birthday and Mother's day and you have a full month of craziness.  March started off with dressing up as book characters, both me and Olivia dressed up for school, I was princess Pearl from Zog and the flying doctors and Olivia was Alice in Wonderland. It's such an odd job where you can go in dressed up as a character. We also enjoyed pancake day as a family, Olivia isn't keen on the crepe style burlt still had a go at flipping one. The middle of the month was quite slow, I ended up getting tonsillitis and was quite poorly with it. Liam was incredible and kept an eye on me and the girls to let me rest and feel better.  We have started renovating our garden with overfeeding the whole garden, planting bulbs and giving the fence a really good jet wash, the garden is looking so different already and I cannot wait for summer to ...

Mothers day 2024

Mothers day is a bitter sweet one for me, having lost my Mum coming up 7 years it's always a time that hits me hard, its a time of year that get my mind going over memories with Mum and looking back on photographs. Being a Mum myself does certainly bring a little ease to the day knowing that I still have a reason to celebrate and make memories.  Also Being able to show my appreciation to both my step Mum and my mother in law makes me smile as I am so lucky to have some wonderful Mother figures in my life. My Mum wouldn't want me to feel sad or not celebrate days like this and would tell me I was being silly If I shyed away from it but in all honestly it is hard, seeing posts of there mums and what they got feels like a kick in the stomach. I hate feeling this way and always feel guilty after but in the moment I do struggle. I am lucky to have a supportive partner who knows me well enough to know how I am feeling and that I am pretty good at masking. He will be there if I need a...

March Recap | 2023

March has come to an end and again I would like to say good riddance, there has been a few good times this month but its been one full of illness again and not just me this time.  We started off with world book day, this was so nice for the girls and a great opportunity for them to dress up in costumes. Olivia was the Gruffalo, she absolutely loves this story so knew she would love it. Lils dressed as Lucy from the Creakers, she again loves the story and hers is something she can wear again. We then started with the illness, first was Olivia with a sickness bug which came on so quick but left equally as fast as it came, then I followed a couple of days later and could not even move out of bed, then it hit Lils who just wanted to sleep. When that was over Olivia was diagnosed with Impetigo so had to have a week off nursery. I am again not 100% but am getting there again. The other good parts of this month were Mothers day, I was spoilt by the girls who got me some lovely...
