Easter basket 2024

With Easter fast approaching I thought I would share what bits the girls have in there Easter basket this year. I have created one of these every year and is full of bits and bobs to keep the girls entertained over the 2 week holiday from school/nursery. This year I actually purchased a new basket for them to have as I really couldn't resist, it's a little bunny cloth basket which was from primark and cost £4. The crafty contents are either from Morrions or The works and the sweet treats included are from Aldi. Firstly we have so Easter paper chains, something a little different and new, these were just £1 from Morrisons and whilst there I noticed little hopping animals for £1.25 each, I picked up a bunny and a chick which the girls can share. From The Works I picked up some paint your own characters which come with paint and brushes, these were £1.50 each, I also picked up a snap game for £2 and an Easter card set for £2 as well, these will definitely keep the girls happy.  La

Mothers day 2024

Mothers day is a bitter sweet one for me, having lost my Mum coming up 7 years it's always a time that hits me hard, its a time of year that get my mind going over memories with Mum and looking back on photographs. Being a Mum myself does certainly bring a little ease to the day knowing that I still have a reason to celebrate and make memories.  Also Being able to show my appreciation to both my step Mum and my mother in law makes me smile as I am so lucky to have some wonderful Mother figures in my life. My Mum wouldn't want me to feel sad or not celebrate days like this and would tell me I was being silly If I shyed away from it but in all honestly it is hard, seeing posts of there mums and what they got feels like a kick in the stomach. I hate feeling this way and always feel guilty after but in the moment I do struggle. I am lucky to have a supportive partner who knows me well enough to know how I am feeling and that I am pretty good at masking. He will be there if I need a

The Mousetrap 70th UK tour | White Rock Theatre Hastings

Three blind mice, three blind mice, see how they run..... Back in November I attended my first Who done it, The mousetrap which is the longest running play in the west end and the first non musical play that I have seen in my adult life. This was the 70th anniversary tour of the show making it that little bit more memorable.  The show is a small cast of 8 actors and is set in the 1950's. The show starts with a couple setting up there guest house for there very first visitors, who are travelling through a snowstorm. Slowly they arrive along with an extra mysterious character with a suspicious tale. News travels across the radio of a murder that has happened locally and soon the police arrive to question the guests but is the murderer amongst them? Slowly the story becomes more twisted which really makes you question every character, each played brilliantly.  The cast that I saw included two well know TV actors which was very surreal, firstly was Kathy Shipton, known for her portray

February recap | 2024

Well February went by in the blink of an eye. It started off great then went down hill pretty quickly but were are coming out the other side. We started off February with an inset day for lils so we took the opportunity to take the girls swimming, it was such a good morning. That afternoon I had my first dentist appointment in a couple of year which went OK and have since had treatment there too. We took adventures to the park for rollerblading and scattering and tried to spend some quality time. But as half term hit so did the illness, the first couple of days were OK, we managed pancake day and Valentines and I did manage to take the girls to see Bingo and Bluey but they night I felt awful, this then hit us all and the rest of the week we were all in bed with the worst cold. This then went on for me and Liam and we are only really getting better now, luckily the girls were better a lot sooner. On top of the cold ai ended up with an ear infection which has been awful and h
