A pocket of my life

December was probably one of the busiest months ever! I Feel like we didnt stop and this was thrown in with illness too. The start if December was a little slow compared to the end. We started off with unpacking and an IKEA trip for furniture, which then lead to lots of building of said furniture so we could finally make this house a home. We have also been planning our wedding too, with parcels being delivered, dresses to try on and invites to get sent out. We do like to add to all the manic stress of it all. We had lots of school events, with Olivias nativity, where she played a camel, and then we had lil's school Christmas fair where she was singing in the choir as well as well.  The Christmas holidays finally arrived and I definitely needed the rest, with the busy month my body decided to throw in a chest infection too.  We finally had a chance to enjoy some time together and some time to do so festive things, we watched the festive tractor run, which included ...

It BEAN a while since I've visited the White rock but what a Giant show it was! My last show of 2025 and this one did not dissapoint! The panto trip is now an annual event and one that I truely look forward to with the family. This years panto is Jack and the Beanstalk, a classic one that always brings joy with with the panto cow normally being cheeky, the dame showing off their outfits and the hero of the hour saving the village and winning over the princess. This years cast consisted of two soap starts, Clair Norris (Fairy Sunshine), who played Bernadette in Eastenders and Richard Blackwood (Jack) who played Vincent in Eastenders and Felix in Hollyoaks. We have the two show regulars who always managed to put a smile on our faces, Ben Watson aka Silly Simon, his comedy timing is brilliant and he always seems to be enjoying the show himself with giggles and audience participation.  Then theres Tim McArthur who was this years villian, Fleshcreep, making the audience boo ...

Dinosaur, poop and a whole lot of laughs! Danny and dino want to see there favourite band perform but dino is hungry, along the way he munches on lots of things and makes Danny sad, is there a way that dino can save the day? Olivia has been a fan of these books for years and I must say they do make me and Liam laugh too, but when I booked this last year I was unsure of how this would be, and how they would bring the dino to life. But after watching this show I can say that me and Olivia thoroughly enjoyed it. There are four cast members, two being Danny and Dino and the other two playing multiple characters through the show, and doing a great job of that too. The music is cheesy but fun and catchty and some small hints to Mcfly too, which certainly put a smile on my face.  The scenery was simple yet effective with one main prop on stage that was usedin many different ways by turning the prop around or opening different parts to create a different space. Another show ticked off for 2024, this time one of my favourite and one we can all enjoy, a Panto. This year local pantomime was Peter Pan at the White rock theatre. This years celebs are Emily steel, AKA Dynamite from Gladiators plays Wendy and our Tinkerbell was portrayed by Alexandra Mardell who plays Emma in Corination Street. Both ladies were brilliant and both had great singing voices too. We also had to familiar faces in the Hastings Panto of Ben Watson and Tim Mcarthur who return every and have amazing repore between each other and the audience. The show had all the classic panto moments with lots of audience participation such as 'oh yes it is, oh no it's not' and 'it's behind you' along with the pie in the face a d tongue twisters.  The songs were all on trend and worked well with the story and were all sung with passion, the dancers were brilliant too and filled the stage with colour and fun.
