Sharnfold Farm | Halloween Trail

Yesterday we took our annual trip to Sharnfold farm for some Halloween fun and it did not dissapoint. This year we took part in the Halloween trail which gets better with every visit with more to see and more effort put in every year, the only downside this year was the PYO field was closed due to the weather.

We arrived the the farm about 11.45 and went into collect our wrist bands, we had prebooked but the tickets cost £5.95 for children over 4 and £4.95 for adults. There is a prize at the end of the trail to collect from the main office.

On arrival we could see some Halloween decorations already which certainly gets the kids excited, you firstly enter a play park which seems to grow every years, there is a tractor for the children to climb over, a sandpit, some ride on toys, a traditional slide and swing and there is also a wild part with bits to learn about wild life and more.

Once you enter the main part you are greeted by your first animals, this year it was some adorable piglets. The Halloween trail consists of finding clues around there woodland walk, these involved counting the ghosts and finding some cauldron signs with letters in to create a magic spell. There are more animals to say hello to including sheep, goats, ducks, chickens and llamas along the way too.

As the weather had been very wet before our visit there were many puddles for the kids to have fun in, I think they found every single one and were soaked through by the end but they had a blast. through the walk there are facts about the animals that you see and even we learnt a few things by the end.

There was three trails you can track depending on how you are feeling, we took the long one which takes you though the whole trail and past the fishing lake too. Through a part of the trail there are some lovely wooden play houses which the children can explore and they have decorated the trees with skeletons and cobwebs and Halloween hats too.

All in all it is a great day out, and keeps the kids out of mischief for a while. Its lovely to go back every year and see how things have changed including how much the girls have grown. Just remember to take you wellies if you go.

My mental health

I don't really know why I am writing this but it may help me or someone else in the future, today I am low, very low, I feel very stuck in a rubbish situation and don't see it ever getting better. At the moment money is tight, very tight and it really is getting me down, I feel like I am letting everyone down. I want to be the best person I can be and the best Mum possible to my girls, I want to be able to provide a good life for them and don't want them to even know that we are ever struggling. I suffer from anxiety but this doesn't feel anything like that, this feels like a have got a weight in my heart, one that feels painful too, its like a constant sinking feeling that drains me too. I am tired and emotional and just had enough and I really don't know what to do or how to even take the next step. I really hope that one day soon we don't have to worry so much, that we can live a little more comfortable and that life gives us some luck as the pas

Cottage pie recipe

I have recently started making my own Cottage pie with a recipe that I have tweeted to work four our fussy family. I find that a cottage pie is such an Autumn/Winter staple as it feeling like such a warm, hearty meal, one that is a proper comfort meal.  I recently started making the meal and found that I didn't have a packet mix in so decided to find a recipe to try out, the first one I found sounded good but I changed it slightly to fit our family, Lils isn't keen on fresh onion ad none of us like celery. I thought I would share our recipe with you which can easily be adapted if need be.
