Drusillas | No ordinary zoo | Family day out

We have recently had a day out at Drusillas Park in Polgate in the South East of England for Lilly's birthday, she got a special sticker to wear to show off and the staff were very attentive to this taking the time to wish her a Happy Birthday. This is a place that me and Liam have been to but when we were children do it was very different to when we both last went.

There is a huge array of animals to see when at Drusillas including a lot of different species of monkey along with some more unusual animals such a penguins and sloths, including a baby sloth born back in August. There is also a small amount of farm animals and an opportunity to milk a (fake) cow.

All the enclosures are clean and with indoor and outdoor options for almost all the animals. There are also opportunities to walk through some animal enclosures where the animals were with you including bats, sloths and rainbow lorikeets, the last one is where Liam made a friend who didn't want to leave his shoulder.

Whilst I'm the park there is also an opportunity for you and your family to enjoy some child friendly rides, Olivia could go on all of them at the age of 3.

All the rides were animals themed from the rainforest carrousel and flying cheetahs to the hippopotobus. These are included in the ticket price and the queues were none existent when we went. Me and the girls loved all of them and it added to the fun and experience of the day.

Whilst there we took the opportunity to go around the SPARK experience, this is the UK's largest immersive sensory experience which was fun for all. There was some many different aspects of the room which both the girls enjoyed. This does come at an additional charge for all who enter but we honestly loved the time we spent in there.

Around the Park there are so many photo opportunities for you to create memories with and remember your day out, the one below had to be my favourite from the Jurrasic jungle section. This was a part the the girls loved with interactive dinosaurs to see.

All is all is was a great day out, we all enjoyed our time there and we got to explore everything we wanted at our own pace. We did order our tickets through kidspass as it worked out cheaper for what we needed. I would love to know if you have visited before or plan on visiting in the future.

My mental health

I don't really know why I am writing this but it may help me or someone else in the future, today I am low, very low, I feel very stuck in a rubbish situation and don't see it ever getting better. At the moment money is tight, very tight and it really is getting me down, I feel like I am letting everyone down. I want to be the best person I can be and the best Mum possible to my girls, I want to be able to provide a good life for them and don't want them to even know that we are ever struggling. I suffer from anxiety but this doesn't feel anything like that, this feels like a have got a weight in my heart, one that feels painful too, its like a constant sinking feeling that drains me too. I am tired and emotional and just had enough and I really don't know what to do or how to even take the next step. I really hope that one day soon we don't have to worry so much, that we can live a little more comfortable and that life gives us some luck as the pas

I have recently started making my own Cottage pie with a recipe that I have tweeted to work four our fussy family. I find that a cottage pie is such an Autumn/Winter staple as it feeling like such a warm, hearty meal, one that is a proper comfort meal.  I recently started making the meal and found that I didn't have a packet mix in so decided to find a recipe to try out, the first one I found sounded good but I changed it slightly to fit our family, Lils isn't keen on fresh onion ad none of us like celery.
