I absolutely love writing these posts and love to capture the moments that make Olivia who she is. She really is growing her personality lately and I can't wait to see how much it grows when she starts school in September but for now these are the things that have been makes us giggle. 

A Mickey car - This is what she calls a mini car, she got a little confused with Mickey mouse and Minnie mouse so now she calls every mini a Mickey car.

My earballs - This one made us chuckle, if she sees a bright light she covers her eye and says 'my eyeballs' so when she heard a loud bang the other day she covered her ears and shouts 'my earballs' which made us laugh so this one has stuck. 

A bath shower -This is a recent things that she has started, so if she has a shower she now puts the plug in and calls it a bath shower, she has ever started to ask for them too.

Candy canes and cheese strings - Over Christmas she discovered that she liked cheese strings, but then started to get confused every time she saw a candy cane decoration she would shout cheese string instead as the ones we get are normally twisted.

I feel that she is growing so fast and changing by the day and I love the little person that she is changing into, this is the last stint before her taking the leap to primary school which I know she is ready for but I certainly am not.

I have recently started making my own Cottage pie with a recipe that I have tweeted to work four our fussy family. I find that a cottage pie is such an Autumn/Winter staple as it feeling like such a warm, hearty meal, one that is a proper comfort meal.  I recently started making the meal and found that I didn't have a packet mix in so decided to find a recipe to try out, the first one I found sounded good but I changed it slightly to fit our family, Lils isn't keen on fresh onion ad none of us like celery. I thought I would share our recipe with you which can easily be adapted if need be. Recipe 500g Beef Mince 1 carton of tomato passata  1 tbs tomato paste 1 beef stock cube 1 beef stock pot 1 tsp onion salt 1 tsp garlic granules 1 tsp mixed herbs 2 medium carrots sliced and part cooked Salt and pepper 3 large potatoes for mash 75g cheese Method 1. Burger seasoning recipe

With the weather warming up and the BBQ season well on its way, I wanted to share a recipe with you that is a firm favourite in our house, this recipe will help elevate you BBQ tastes with the yummiest burgers that have so much flavour.  Its such a simple seasoning to make and one that you will be able to store for future use too. 1 tsp Salt 1 tsp Freshly ground black pepper 1 tbsp Paprika 1 1/2 tsp Garlic Powder 1 tsp Onion powder 1/4 tsp Cayenne pepper We add these herbs and spices into a pestel and mortar and given them a good mix together. When the time comes to make these tasty burgers just grab some 5%  mince and shape into burgers, we now have a burger press to make them more even, then when cooking sprinkle some of the seasoning onto the top side of the burger and flip, then repeat till both sides are covered evenly. Summer holidays on a budget | 10 ideas

 The summer holidays can be scary for some parents knowing that there budget doesn't stretch far, I try to keep to a strict budget so we don't go beyond our means, this means that some days are in with free activites and crafts. So here are some free/cheap ideas to keep you and the kids entertained over the holidays. Rock painting and hiding Lego building Pet pals workshop (Pets at home) Den making Baking ( Cookies , Cupcakes ) Cinema (kids club) National trust (vouchers are very useful) Beach/park  Summer reading challenge (local libraries) Scavenger hunt / nature hunt These are just a few things that we get up to in the summer holidays. I normally put these and more in an envelope and get the girls to pick something out when the day is slow or there bored. I really hope these help and would love to hear what you get up to as well.
