Wingham wildlife park, Kent's fastest growing zoo and one we will definitely be visiting again. We decided to take a day out for Olivia's birthday and had been recommended this park by a few people. The entry prices were very reasonable, it wasn't too far to drive and looked great so took our chances.
For a family ticket it is £76 on gate or £72 if you book online, which is what we did as it made it easier and that little bit cheaper. We arrived at around 10.15am to a busy car park and was a little worried at how busy it would be but to our surprise it wasn't as crazy as we thought.
On entering the park you are greeted with the first of many animals to see, the arctic wolves, these were one that Lils was excited to see and they did not disappoint. Everywhere you turn there was animal enclosure with an array of animals, some of which me and Liam had never seen let alone the kids. The enclosure sizes were good and the land in and around the enclosure was well maintained with some of them actually having flower beds around the outside of the enclosures too.
The park was quite well laid out and very accessible to wheelchairs, Liam's Mum came with us and had no problems maneuvering around the park on her mobility scooter, the only time that we felt a little let down was after we saw the giraffes and had to go back on ourselves quite a bit as the ramp only went up one side.
The park has a couple of play parks and a soft play which is all quite near the picnic areas, these parks are very well maintained and gave us all a bit of fun with me and Liam taking it in turns to follow Olivia round, the main park has a huge wooden clamber castle full of slides and bridges and a smaller one too then a little further on is an under 5 park which we didn't take advantage of as the kids wanted to see more animals.
All in all I would say we had a full and busy day out, there is so much to see and do and we all honestly had a great visit. The one thing I will say is that most of the park is card only for food and I believe in the gift shop too, the only part that was actual money was the penny squish machines in different locations.
