The Dinosaur that Pooped: a rock show | White Rock Theatre Hastings

Image
Dinosaur, poop and a whole lot of laughs! Danny and dino want to see there favourite band perform but dino is hungry, along the way he munches on lots of things and makes Danny sad, is there a way that dino can save the day? Olivia has been a fan of these books for years and I must say they do make me and Liam laugh too, but when I booked this last year I was unsure of how this would be, and how they would bring the dino to life. But after watching this show I can say that me and Olivia thoroughly enjoyed it. There are four cast members, two being Danny and Dino and the other two playing multiple characters through the show, and doing a great job of that too. The music is cheesy but fun and catchty and some small hints to Mcfly too, which certainly put a smile on my face.  The scenery was simple yet effective with one main prop on stage that was usedin many different ways by turning the prop around or opening different parts to create a different space. Jack in the Green | Hastings

Image
Jack in the Green, an annual celebration that is held in Hastings over the first weekend of May, which then ends with a parade of music and laughter.  Jack in the green was revived in Hastings back in the 1980's and seems to grow every year with people travelling from all ove the country to take part in the May day parade. The main vibe of the event is to welcome summer and with the slaying of Jack at the end of parade releasing the spirit of summer which is certainly has this year. The offical start of the celebrations is held on May the 1st with a dance at dawn on the west hill to welcome May.  This involves dancing and singing along to drums. On Saturday there is lots to enjoy, from Morris dancing around the town, workshops to make headresses and sing a longs. Sunday is great for the family, they have more dancing around the town, a parade of giants, and the famous drum off in Butlers gap. Monday is the big one, which starts with a Morris Dancers bre...

April recap | 2025

April has been and gone in a flash, with birthdays, Easter, half term and illness thrown into the mix. We started off the month with the last week of term, a trip to a fort for me and an Easter bonnet parade to finish the term. Half term started off amazing, Lils learnt how to ride her bike in under 30 minutes and is now flying every time she rides. Olivia has also been having fun on her bike, flying along the path down the back of ours.  But I was struck with my second lot of tonsillitis and a chest infection to contend with. Luckily with antibiotics I was better in no time.  Next was Olivias 5th birthday! How is she 5? We had a lovely chilled day, she opened her presents and then we took her swimming, had family round and enjoyed lots of cake and treats.  Easter followed just after, this year was so nice as I was actually able to set up an outdoor egg hunt, the girls loved it and it really put a smile on my face. They had some many yummy treats to enjoy and ...
