Brighton Sea life

We have had a recent trip to Brighton sea life centre for Olivia's birthday treat, we were over that way and decided to make a day of it. When visiting the sea life you need to book in advance which is easily done on there website.

Upon entering the centre you are welcomed to the aquarium and have a couple of photos taken just before you go into the first section, these are available to purchase at the end. I did decide to get our family one, along with a photo of Olivia with there special guest, Peppa Pig, they are £12 for one or 2 for £15. Peppa pig is available to see at certain points during the day until the 4th of June.

The first part of the aquarium starts in a colourful illuminated room which some smaller sized tanks, there is a lip for younger children to stand on so they can get a better look, about half way up there is a tank for rays and cat fish, a small area to be able to touch star fish, a conservation area and a small cafe area. Past that there were more tanks with more exciting creatures in, eels and an octopus which was being fed.

Through the aquarium there is a Peppa trail for the younger children to get involved in which is also educational for them. at the end of the room you are led off to Rain forest adventure part, this was a really cool area with lots of things for us all to look at, the most exciting part for Lils was the turtles which has two viewing domes in. I loved that they had a huge ant colony with a trail of pipes for them to travel through. Again the area also had fish that are native to the rain forest area.

You then enter the night and day section which is a huge tank full of exciting animals including sharks and large sea turtles, this is also where you can ride the glass bottom boat for an extra cost of £20. before the under water tunnel there is a part of the experience where there was a beach with waves created by lights, when the ground is stepped on near the waves the floor changes and a splashing sound is heard, Olivia loved this and didn't want to leave.

The next part was my favourite part, the under water tunnel, I love being able to watch all the animals swim around and over us including the sea turtles, we have never actually seen them in person before so they definitely made our trip. Olivia was made up with watching the swimming over her and again didn't want to leave.

This then leads back to the illuminated room but on the other side, this had some very strange turtles including the pig nose turtle and a common snake necked turtle. We also found some jelly fish, they were displayed in a tank that was changing colour so you could see how oddly they move more easily.

It took us around an hour and a half to go around the whole aquarium and see everything, we didn't rush as we wanted make it worth while. The price for the four of us was £63, this includes 2 adults, 1 child and 1 under 3 (who are free). It was a great day out and the kids really enjoyed themselves, Olivia loved meeting Peppa and seemed in awe of all the fish.

I would love to know if you have visited before or plan on visiting in the future, thank you for having us Bright sea life.

My mental health

I don't really know why I am writing this but it may help me or someone else in the future, today I am low, very low, I feel very stuck in a rubbish situation and don't see it ever getting better. At the moment money is tight, very tight and it really is getting me down, I feel like I am letting everyone down. I want to be the best person I can be and the best Mum possible to my girls, I want to be able to provide a good life for them and don't want them to even know that we are ever struggling. I suffer from anxiety but this doesn't feel anything like that, this feels like a have got a weight in my heart, one that feels painful too, its like a constant sinking feeling that drains me too. I am tired and emotional and just had enough and I really don't know what to do or how to even take the next step. I really hope that one day soon we don't have to worry so much, that we can live a little more comfortable and that life gives us some luck as the pas

Cottage pie recipe

I have recently started making my own Cottage pie with a recipe that I have tweeted to work four our fussy family. I find that a cottage pie is such an Autumn/Winter staple as it feeling like such a warm, hearty meal, one that is a proper comfort meal.  I recently started making the meal and found that I didn't have a packet mix in so decided to find a recipe to try out, the first one I found sounded good but I changed it slightly to fit our family, Lils isn't keen on fresh onion ad none of us like celery. I thought I would share our recipe with you which can easily be adapted if need be. Recipe 500g Beef Mince 1 carton of tomato passata  1 tbs tomato paste 1 beef stock cube 1 beef stock pot 1 tsp onion salt 1 tsp garlic granules 1 tsp mixed herbs 2 medium carrots sliced and part cooked Salt and pepper 3 large potatoes for mash 75g cheese Method 1.
