Budget friendly half term activites

With half-term term officially starting next week I wanted to share a few ideas that don't break the bank. Trying to keep the kids occupied for a week can be tricky when they are out of routine but I am one of those Mums who loves these weeks, the time to have a slower week and make memories if possible.

1. Cinema: This may sound crazy but I have just got 3 tickets, 1 adult and 2 children for under Ā£10 with ODEON Kids. Throw in a shop bag of popcorn or some of their favourite sweets then we have a morning planned.

2. Make a den: We love making dens in our house with mattresses on the floor with blanket and sheets for a roof. I try to make these as cosy as possible as sometimes they like to sleep in them too.

3. Baking: This is great in many ways, it's good bonding time, they are learning maths if you help them with weighing and you get a yummy treat at the end. We love baking from scratch with many recipes on my blog, but we also love a box mix, normally a character cake set with rice paper pictures. The only downfall here is the washing up after.

4. Rock painting: I have mentioned this before on my blog but I absolutely love doing this with the girls. We normally bring some larger pebbles home from the beach and paint designs with acrylic paint pens. Then once dry we hide them in our local area, this is great for creativity and getting some fresh air after.

5. National trust: This again isn't always considered cheap but through the year there are many promotions to get yourselves some family tickets, such as in the newspapers or sometimes through there site itself. We have visited many local places and normally taken part in the hunts/trails that they put on, this normally is only around Ā£3 per child with a prize at the end. We usually take our own food to keep the cost down which makes it seem more of an adventure with a little picnic.

I really hope these have given you some inspiration for over half term and I hope the weather is good for you to get out and have some fun.

Victoria x

Autumn Tag

Hello, I thought that today I would take part in the Autumn tag so you can all get to know me a little better, I took part in this on my old blog many years back and a lot has changed since. Autumn has to be my favourite season with so much change and the excitement for Christmas not far ahead. 1. What signifies the start of Autumn for you? I know Autumn starts at the end of September but for me its the first of November when it starts to officially feel like Autumn, it all of the sudden feels different and colder after Halloween and especially when the clocks go back too. 2. What is your favourite Autumn scent? My favourite autumn scents are either Orange or berries, they always make the house smell so warm and toasty in wax melt form and I love them in a hand cream or even a bubble bath scent too around this time of year.. 3. What is your favourite Autumn colour? My favourite Autumn colour has to be the burnt orange for the leaves but burgundy colour for clothing, the are just very w...
