We're moving (again)

This is a post that I didn't think I would be writing this soon but yes, we are moving, again! 

Circumstances have changed in the past couple of months which has meant that we have had to look for somewhere else to live, this has been a very stressful, crazy time but it is coming to an end. On Monday last week we signed the papers and got the keys to our new home!

My emotions have been through the roof, from frustation and anger at the situation, excitment and nervousness about moving but sad about leaving this house as we have started to really make it feel homely. 

The past week Liam has been working his socks off decorating the place and making it homely, with me helping over the weekend. The next week or so will be Liam finishing the decoating and us finishing packing up the house before our move at the weekend then to unpack it all in the new house and get that sorted as soon as possible. 

Lets hope this is our home for longer than the one we are in now and that we can get unpacked and sorted and start making new memories.

I have recently started making my own Cottage pie with a recipe that I have tweeted to work four our fussy family. I find that a cottage pie is such an Autumn/Winter staple as it feeling like such a warm, hearty meal, one that is a proper comfort meal.  I recently started making the meal and found that I didn't have a packet mix in so decided to find a recipe to try out, the first one I found sounded good but I changed it slightly to fit our family, Lils isn't keen on fresh onion ad none of us like celery. Burger seasoning recipe

With the weather warming up and the BBQ season well on its way, I wanted to share a recipe with you that is a firm favourite in our house, this recipe will help elevate you BBQ tastes with the yummiest burgers that have so much flavour.  Its such a simple seasoning to make and one that you will be able to store for future use too. 1 tsp Salt 1 tsp Freshly ground black pepper 1 tbsp Paprika 1 1/2 tsp Garlic Powder 1 tsp Onion powder 1/4 tsp Cayenne pepper We add these herbs and spices into a pestel and mortar and given them a good mix together. When the time comes to make these tasty burgers just grab some 5%  mince and shape into burgers, we now have a burger press to make them more even, then when cooking sprinkle some of the seasoning onto the top side of the burger and flip, then repeat till both sides are covered evenly.  The summer holidays can be scary for some parents knowing that there budget doesn't stretch far, I try to keep to a strict budget so we don't go beyond our means, this means that some days are in with free activites and crafts. So here are some free/cheap ideas to keep you and the kids entertained over the holidays. Rock painting and hiding Lego building Pet pals workshop (Pets at home) Den making Baking ( Cookies , Cupcakes ) Cinema (kids club) National trust (vouchers are very useful) Beach/park  Summer reading challenge (local libraries) Scavenger hunt / nature hunt These are just a few things that we get up to in the summer holidays.
