Summer holiday activities | Budget friendly

With the summer holidays fast approaching its that time of year where I create an activities envelope to keep the kids (and me) entertained with some fun things to do. This year we have a different location to explore with the move late last year. I am going to share 15 free / budget friendly ideas with you that can help keep the boredom at bay.

  1. Rock painting, then go and hide them
  2. Park days / beach days
  3. Den building using sheets and pegs
  4. Baking
  5. Lego challenges
  6. The arcades (£5 budget)
  7. An indoor scavenger hunt
  8. The summer reading challenge with your local library
  9. Icecream sundae station with movie
  10. Slime play, make your own (Cloud dough recipe)
  11. Look out for free local events
  12. Go swimming
  13. Natural tie dye
  14. Go on a nature walk
  15. Make and decorate paper airplanes to fly somewhere.

And finally make a memory jar filled with treasures from your adventures such as shells so you can look back together.

We really enjoy the summer holidays and I always make a little montage of our summer using 1 second a day, its such a lovely way to look back on especially over the years. Are there any summer ideas that you do that I haven't mentioned?
