What a fantastic family day out!

We recently took a trip to Legoland in Windsor and had an amazing time from rides to water fun and all in between.

We didnt go with a game plan but just took the day as it came which I think was a mistake, I wish I had done more research into the park but we still had fun no matter what.

Pros of Legoland

The variety of rides, attractions and food outlets was great, all the rides were themed perfectly and it really did make it easier to navigate. The legoland app was brilliant, it kept us up to date with queue times on the rides and also had a handy map with directions to rides when needed.

The park was clean and tidy, the staff were friendly. The summer holiday event was great and there seemed to be lots to do and it was free to join. The photo pass was great, we paid £30 for all the photos/videos taken whilst on rides.

Cons of Legoland

The cost of parking is crazy, £15 for normal or £18 for priority parking is just mad. The lack of seating areas for eating food, we ended up sitting on the floor to eat. The queue length on most of the rides was 40 minutes to an hour which is a long time for children but we did make it. 

Prices

- Day tickets booked in advance £36.75 each
- Priority parking £18 (easier with mobility scooter)

All in all it was a great day out, we had great fun and got to go on a few rides, enjoy the model village and see some fantastic builds too.

I have recently started making my own Cottage pie with a recipe that I have tweeted to work four our fussy family. Wow! What a crazy full on month again and one that will stay with me forever. The month started off with our second house move of the year, it has been so stressful and crazy but we are in and the keys are handed back for the other house now so onwards and upwards.  Most of the month has been working, unpacking and Sorting and just being Mum but I have had a few days which have been incredible.  This month I got to attend an event and meet the wonderful Axel Scheffler, the illistrator of the Gruffalo, stickman and many more. He was lovely and we managed to get a book signed by him. I also got to meet Thomas Taylor, an author and illistrator who actually created the first cover for the Harry Potter books. It was such a lovely couple of hours and one I won't forget in a rush. Toad in the hole recipe

Toad in the hole is one of our favourite meals to have, especially in the colder months with a huge pile of mash, veg and gravy. We love to change this recipe up a little with just 2 different herbs, Onion granules and sage. Toad in the hole is a classic English dish, its great any time of the week and really doesn't take too much effort for a great homely meal. This recipe is also suitable for vegetarians with the change to a meat free sausage.  Recipe 4 - 6 Sausages of your choice 1-2 tbsp oil 140g plain flour 2 eggs 175ml semi skimmed milk 1 tsp sage 1 tsp onion granules salt and pepper Method 1. Heat your oven to 220oC/ gas mark 7 and place sausages in a roasting tin with oil, bake for 15 mins. 2. Meanwhile mix the flour and eggs together, slowly add the milk and herbs in. 3. Leave to stand until the sausages are starting to brown 4. Pour the batter into the tin and bake on the top shelf for 25 to 30 minutes. 5.
